Made by the cook (name unknown) of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hagemans, grandparents of donor, in Georgia, Russia, in the 1880s and came with them to the U.S. when Mr. Hagemans was appointed Consul General of Belgium to the U.S. in 1890. Mr. Hagemans remained in the post for 32 years.
