Woven by Albertina’s cousin. Purchased from Albertina Lopez Cumez [as she was then known] in Mendocino, CA, by (Ann C Wilson) ACW in May 2004. 2 paper tags on back of patterned area: (removed) —“ACW #11” —“Purchased from Albertina Lopez Cumez of Santa Catarina Palopó, Sololá, Guatemala, at the Mendocino Art Center, Mendo, May 2004, by A. C. Wilson. Woven by a cousin of hers." Single length of weaving. Warp loops at both ends. Black warp. Plain weave. Multicolored single faced animal, bird, tree, and geometric motifs in supplementary weft patterning, predominantly blue & green, covering almost one half of faja. Weaving reflects inexperienced weaver.
