Miniature; French king in dress armor and white/white embroidered shirt, large flowing curled gray/brown wig. Miniature, oval in oval cast engraved (coil design) brass frame. Miniature is backed by paper cut from old records showing (in brown) ‘1724’ and an unreadable signature. ‘Louis XIV’ appears twice in black. Signed ‘C. Barthold’ mid right edge (apparent attempt to remove signature). Probable wall hanging. 7.3 x 5.18 cm.
