Description:
Plate, porcelain, with underglaze and overglaze enamel decoration. "Imari" ware. wide plate with turned up edge. Deep, dark blue underglaze, with green spotted enamel, red, and gold lacquer. Three red and gold flowers with blue leaves and gold detail within blue & green band with gold crosshatching. Tree red 'jui-i' scepter heads on sides, bordered by blue. Flower motif between. underside: blue vine scroll-work, three lines on foot ring. Inscription on bottom center. * Height: 3 cm; Rim diameter: 24.5 cm. Identical to 9-12388.

*Inscription on base reads 'Dai Min Sei Ka Nen sei.' "made in Cheng Hua era of the great Ming Dynasty" (1465-1487), a common mark in the 18th century on Imari ware. - Hidden among the floral motif on the sides, are architectural features and mountains. this same design element is found on pieces 9-12385 and 9-12386.
