Openwork twined, bowl-shaped. Tag "Klamath R. Tribes Att." Per Ralph Shanks: Openwork twined basket. The basket has two pairs of crossed warps at the starting knot. The warp material is probably hazel. The wefts are also possibly hazel. At the rim is a bundle of reinforcing sticks wrapped with probably wild grape. At the base there is plain twining to the edge, where there are two weft rows of three strand twining. Plain twining then continues to the rim. The warp sticks are crossed at five rows throughout the basket. At the rim the basket has two closer spaced rows of weft. The basket has an up to the right slant of weft twist. The basket has a rightward work direction with an exterior workface. The basket is from Northwestern California.
