MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Backstrap loomed single and two-ply cotton, predominantly in dark blue, also in red, olive green, pink, magenta, green, beige, aqua blue, blue and gold; silk floss in beige. Native name and meaning: Tzute-multipurpose cloth. CONTEXT OF USE: Tag attached to tzute with "$20" written on it. The base cloth is deep dark blue and at each end of tzute is a broad stripe of brocading and the rest are of small geometric shapes. The bottom warps are macrame and finished with tassels that are 1-3 inches long. Provenance was by Arriola de Geng. CONSERVATION: Good. Ends slightly frayed.
