- Description:
- Koyemsi mud head katsina (kachina); carved and painted wooden figure. Sack mask with tall top knot, knob ears, back of head protruding, tubular eyes, and mouth with two-flanged, black ends. Head and body are sepia with round, black medallion with white dots in center of chest and back; fore arms and calves also black with white dots. Wears a black kilt, white boots, fringed leather arm bands, a bandana neckerchief, black, tasseled knee bands and right arm band; silver and turquoise bracelet on left wrist. Carries a plate of corn in one hand and a rattle with feathers in the other. A.L. Sahmie, carver.
