teapot - missing its lid. spherical in shape, slightly elongated from top to bottom. the gold trimmed mouth is gently waved and descends into a lip which is circular but for one side which is straightened out as a lock for the lid (which would have had a boot that locks beneath this straightened section). the handle is ear-shaped and is on the side of the lock. attaching beneath the mouth round up and around curving to attach slightly below the mid-section, the bottom attachment trails down the body 1 cm. the spout has a wide attachment covering the widest section of the sphere. at the bottom of the spout attachment is a small, pinched "drip". the spout angles up sharply, the outer line curves inward then out to form a pronounced pourer. the crest has a beveled, smooth shaped shield that is divided pale style, the outer portion are in red, the middle portion black with three white 'X's stacked. on either side of the shield is a brown lion with very detailed fur and an exaggeratedly thin body. they stride on their hind legs towards the shield; face is frontal, front paws supporting the shield. they stand on a two tiered stand which is being supported by a yellow sconce. on the top of the shield is a white crown detailed in yellow on a two tiered yellow stand. beneath the yellow sconce is a scrolling ribbon with the city name "Amsterdam".
