Backstrap-loomed, warp-faced plain weave; two faced support. weft brocading; one piece; warp cut and uncut, create 1.5 to 1.875 inch fringe on each end. 71 cm x 66.8 cm. Native name and meaning: Servilleta/multipurpose cloth. Materials, techniques: Cotton: 5 and 9 singles in maroon; 1 three-ply n maroon, green, white, black, orange, blue, lavender, magenta, yellow and red; silk; 4 two-ply in orange. Context of use: Collected by Miguel Hun between 1980 and 1985, donated to the museum in 1991. Servilleta consists of multicolored stripes in various widths; fringe on each end created by leaving warps unwoven; one fringe end is cut while other is both cut and uncut (cut warps are knotted together at this end). One solitary support weft brocading near one corner of servilleta, done in a butterfly design, possibly the weaver's mark.
