Description:
4" x 5" Negative. Lioness realizes photographer in thorn enclosure and stands up above her food. Looks at photographer. Hoefler's original description: "Surprised!! The lioness now discovers that a strange creature is hidden behind the thorn wall and is straining her eyes to get a good look at the photographer, who in changing his position made a slight noise which she heard. Would she charge the boma, or would she depart without filling her belly with the needed meat. She discovers that she is not alone and takes a good look into the cameraman eye, which almost cracks under the strain.
