8 x 10" Negative. Kapsabet, Nandi Reserve. Image depicts N’goma M’kuba ya Simba (Nandi Big Dance of the Lion), in which individuals dance in a circle while they are watched by a crowd. Hoefler's original description: "Kapsabet, Nandi Reserve. Nandi N’goma M’kuba ya Simba (Nandi Big Dance of the Lion). After the return to the Nandi reserve of the spearmen who had been into Tanganyika (Tanzania) after lion with Hoefler, the tribesmen and women gathered from many miles around and came into Kapsabet to hold a big dance in celebration of the victories over the lions."
