This is the bottom plate used to seal the consecration materials in a bronze image of a Buddha or other Buddhist deity. Note the ingraved double vajra. A double vajra is always ingraved or embossed in the bottom plate of an image, this seals the consecration so as to stabilize the presence of the deity within the image.See: T- 131.
