Man's shirt: black ground with red, white, blue, yellow pattern band along front and back sides at upper and lower sleeve; red edging on all edges; appliquéd rectangular patch of red cloth tubing for neck closure, closed with 16 brass buttons; underarm seams edged with red, green, white, yellow embroidered thread band. Made from handwoven cotton, warp-faced plain weave; supplementary warp patterns in side bands; cloth tubes filled with unknown material tacked onto ground cloth to form front patch and along edges; natural red dyes for tubing; chemical dyes elsewhere; shirt body made from one piece of fabric with sleeves from two separate pieces of cloth.
