Description:
Coiled, unfinished. Two tags, the first reads "Mission 9 [could be a G] 7/31-33", the second reads "Mission unfinished 7-31-33". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled unfinished lid-like basket. The coil foundation is a bundle of shredded material. The wefts are orange, tan, and black-dyed juncus. There are five arrowhead or tree designs in black dyed juncus. The basket has an exterior workface with bound under weft fag ends and a rightward work direction. The rim is unfinished with the bundle foundation extending beyond the wefts of the basket.
