Black and white negative of a delivery boy carrying a box titled "The Kandy Bakery" Hoefler's original description: "Island of Ceylon. The "Kandy Kid." Labor is cheap in Ceylon and most deliveries are made by boys and men who carry the packages or produce on top their heads. This energetic you Sinhalese was chief delivery boy for the Kandy bakery. He got around so quickly and was seen in so many places within a short period that for a long time Hoefler thought he was twins!
