pitcher; small handle on low side near lip. lip is trimmed in gold. the body is spherical with a small narrowing neck. the lip opposite the handle, the mouth elongated and curved inwards. the shield is a florid shield. the top third of the shield is black with three crowns lined up. below is an inverted chevron with three yellow stag heads and three, blue fleur-de-lys around the chevron. on top of the shield is a purple knight's helmet and shoulders. around the knight’s helmet down both sides of the shield are filigree leaves of blue and white. above the knight is a lighthouse with lines indicating that it is lit. beneath the shield is a yellow ribbon with "Respice Aspice Prospice" beneath this in small print "500TLE". made by W.H. Goss, 1858-1887.
