- Purchased from Albertina Lopez Cumez at her home in Santa Catarina Palopó by ACW on March 16, 2005. Woven by a cousin of hers. 1 paper tag and 1 cloth tag attached on back near hem: Paper tag: “ACW #18” Cloth tag: “Purchased from Albertina Lopez Cumez at her home in Santa Catarina Palopó, Dept. Sololá, Guatemala, on March 16, 2005, by A. C. Wilson. Woven by a cousin of hers." Tzute. 2 panels, each with one hemmed end and one finished selvage, connected by decorative stitching (randa) in horizontal purple, green, red, blue, & black bands. Plain weave. Predominately red, brown, & black/dark blue warp stripes. Symmetrical narrow black/dark blue warp stripes, flanked by green warp threads, contain evenly spaced warp ikat “dots”. Overall impression is of reddish-brown cloth.
