: Hearst Museum object titled Inro, museum number 9-5126, described as Inro; black lacquer ground; one side: 4 rows Chinese characters in “seal style:” haliotis (abalone) inlay; other side: tree, structure, 3 people, haliotis inlay with gold oval bead ojime lacquer with gold haliotis inlay; lacquered netsuke is rounded square with inset whirlwind design; purple silk plaited cords; height 6.5 cm. : Hearst Museum object titled Tobacco box, museum number 9-4817, described as Tobacco box with lid sliding on cords; oval; wood with lacquer and shell and stone overlay; on one side is Boy's Day carp banner and trees or clouds in relief; on other side are three samurai (one is overlord); round wood ojime with inlaid abalone in floral design, inlaid butterfly; ojime signed "Shibayama" (end 18th-19th century); red lacquer netsuke representing cat with smiling face, tail curled over back; length of box: 12.5 cm.
