Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 2-72544a-c, described as Small basket (A), with lid (B) constructed of cedar bark & birch bark, over which natural porcupine quills have been embroidered. A six-pointed star is embroidered into the top of the lid in a lattice pattern with black accents at the base of each arm, and a red knot in the center. The inside edge of the basket and the outer edge of the lid are reinforced with grass bands sewing in place with black thread. A short string of yellow seed beads in inside the basket (C).
