Patterns are woven in gray, pink, and black on a golden/green ground w/ golden thread on the foot of the goblet.  Entire hanging is bound with a narrow blue/black edging.

Hearst Museum object titled Hanging, accession number 9-21655, described as Wall hanging; made from court robe of the Imperial Era. Two unrelated fragments combined to make the hanging.  Upper fragment separated from lower panel by a black border & edged w/ blue bias cotton. Consists of kossu woven and painted symbols plus 1/2 of 2 birds. Lower fragment contains a  5-clawed dragon motif embroidered with gold-wrapped thread, and holds a pearl of peace in claws; surrounded by sky containing Budhist symbols, bats, floral motifs and green flames w/ painted hilights on dragon and Buddhist symbols.  Multicolored water and waves below.   Entire panel is framed w/ black border edged w/ blue bias edging. Lined with faded red cotton fabric.
