Warp is Willow (Salix), weft is Alder root (Alnus) and Hazel (Corylus cornuta californica). Black color is mud-dyed. Mostly plain twined.  Design very faint, is not overlay, pattern in dyed black.

White pattern is Beargrass (Xerophyllum tenax).   Per Ralph Shanks:  Large, shallow circular basket.  Beargrass overlay on conifer root weft.  At starting knot 3 strand twining, but bulk of basket is plain twined.  2 rows of 3 strand twining inch below rim.  On bottom 4 concentric reinforcing rods.
