Hearst Museum object titled Collar, accession number 9-21301, described as Collar, for official’s uniform; Manchu style; black silk gauze with tapestry-stitch embroidery over gold foil, eight strands of gold thread separate border of bats and double Ju-i scepters from main pattern. From back, two five-clawed dragons vie for flamed pearl of perfection, above waves and rocks; clouds, Ju-i scepters, Buddhist swastikas, bats, dragons in gold thread. Front closure with brass button. Piping around neckline of same blue and gold brocade with chrysanthemum pattern as 3.5 cm border of the collar. With crimson, peony-patterned, silk lining.

The netsuke (b) is a manju type of dark wood in two pieces turned on a lathe, w/ deep incised scroll pattern design. The purple cord attaches to an inner loop of the under section, and passes thru a hole in the lower section. The ojime (c) is oval shaped metal w/ flat sides, and checkerboard pattern, L. (a) 8cm. "Dutch ship" type "Imari" ware. 1 of 3. rather small, shallow plate. central medalion containing 3-masted ship w/ flags flying from each, and large flag at stern; depicted entirely in red, black and gold, except for touches of green on sail. two 'scroll'-like dragons in reserve on surrounding band. 2 panels opp. ea. other on sides contain small versions of ship. floral motifs on the other two sids w/ 2 Dutchmen between each; some holding their hats, others holding Japanese fans. flroal lozange-diaper pattern ground of grey & green. underside: 2 panels w/ ships & 2 medalions w/ men. red flowers & blue leaves between.
