The reverse features a red inscription, stating that the mug was made by the Newly Established Central Construction Bureau of the Railway Administration, No. 6 Construction Bureau, in commemoration of the opening of the Baoji-Chengdu route. Cobalt blue bowstring decorates the rim. The handle is partially decorated in black.

A model of loyalty, Men He (门合 1928-1967) wrote in his diary: ‘All of my thoughts are for Chairman Mao, all of my actions are in service of Chairman Mao. The white ground is decorated with the Red Book: Quotations from Mao, accompanied by a rifle and golden wheat tassel inside a brown cog, symbolizing the Worker-Farmer-Soldier Alliance. On the right there is a red inscription: Be united, alert, earnest and active (团结 紧张 严肃 活泼Tuanjie jinzhang yansu huopo). Black bowstring decorates the rim.

Hearst Museum object titled Mug, accession number 9-23935, described as Enamel mug. The white ground is stenciled with the monument to the Heroes of the Revolution. The golden monument stands in Tiananmen Square above a sea of red flags. Splashes of blue pigment suggest a clear sky. On the right a red inscription reads: “Carry the Revolution through to the end” (将革命进行到底Jiang geming jinxing daodi). Black bowstring decorates the rim.
