Hearst Museum object titled Oil lamp, accession number 9-16894, described as Oil lamp, bronze or brass.  Long pointed (enclosed wick spout.  Three legs, one of which appears to have been added recently. Lamp appears to be brass with touch of solder and yellowish plaster or clay substance. The attached lid is very questionable. It is not the same shape as the opening it purports to fit; it appears to be bronze or brass but is filled and semared with the same plaster/clay substance as well as glue.  It is attached to the lamp with a loop of ferrous metal (showing rust) and a bit of solder.  Cont’d. below.                                    L. 13. 5 cm
