Hearst Museum object titled Altar box, accession number 9-22000, described as This is an altar box, It is a wooden box covered with brass medallions and decorations showing Buddhas and deities. On the inside of the hinged lid is a scene of the Buddha with two disciples, probably Shakyamuni with Shariputra and Madhgalyayana. There is a small Chinese padlock, without a key, attached to the closure fitting. It is similar to the locks numbered T-132.

Gold (?) repoussé beaker decorated with a male face, ear spools and longish, carefully shaped hair. face and head extend around the entire circumference of the beakers upper half. beaker is conical but with a flat base and a slightly flared lip.

Three brass bands, one around the top, middle and bottom. height, 26 cm base; diameter- 11 cm. Called “kare rakum.” Used by men for alcoholic beverages (fermented grain beer or distilled grain alcohol). When men are drinking together, the alcohol is poured directly into the users without touching the lips.
