Hearst Museum object titled Netsuke, accession number 9-12535, described as Carving / Cabinet piece: Carved ivory figure of Ebisu (?), one of the Seven Gods of luck. He is depicted seated on one leg, the other knee raised. He holds a fan (uchiwa) w/ a cord attached to the end which he holds w/ the other hand at his feet. Bearded chin. Eyes and eyebrows painted black. Flat cap on head, w/ diamond pattern. Back of garment has 'checker-board' textile pattern. H. 3.1 cm.
