Hearst Museum object titled Bag, accession number 7-7267, described as White linen bag, made in lace technique, rectangular braided and drawstrings with “pompen” ends. Front part of cut work has embroidered flower motifs, open circles with maltese crosses in the center and open squares with diagonal bars. Linen mesh borders the center panel, covers the drawstring casing and borders the bag’s upper edge.

Long slim sleeves with fullness at shoulder. Areas and bands of fine crochet at yoke, shoulders, wrist, center, medallion, many flowers, leaves and balls on coarse net. Good condition, very white. 20 inches long center front. Made from cotton yarn.

Hearst Museum object titled Bonnet, accession number 2-63497, described as Child’s bonnet Materials: Linen and satin, eyelet embroidery Techniques: sewn Colors: white with salmon ribbon Dimensions: 7 1/8” top to nape; 9: across nape; 48” ribbon ties Remarks: Bonnet is gathered across top to wide brim, trimmed across brim and nape with wide pink satin ribbon which ties beneath chin. 1A brim has rosette of the ribbon. A side has rosette with three buds of pink with dark center. Inner trim trimmed in hexagonal mesh net inner bonnet lining is of sheer open plain weave cotton. Center of nape attaches to knot of satin ribbon with tucks. Brim edge trimmed with white piping.
