Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-255568, described as Coiled. Deep, sloped-sided, with circular cross section. Natural color with 2 dark-colored horizontal zigzag bands and a dark-colored horizontal geometric band. Grass bundle foundation. Grass types: Muhlengergia rigens, Cladium mariscus; decoration, Pteridium aquilinum.
Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-243037, described as Coiled, flat-bottomed, conical shape; horizontal and vertical designs in purple and black; grass bundle foundation (Xerophyllum tenax), sedge root sewing strands (Cladium mariscus), bracken fern root (Pteridium aqualinium), and redbud shoots (Cercis occidentalis). A mush boiler in shape and size, but purchased new and never used.
