Hearst Museum object titled Sifting tray, accession number 1-16586, described as Sifter basket; twined. Warp is Willow (Salix), weft is yellow Pine. White pattern is Beargrass (Xerophyllum tenax). White overlay, single-faced, floats on back. Stepped design flanked by linked triangles. 2 shoots are lattice twined on bottom at 4.5-5.5 cm and 12-13 cm from start. Basket was turned inside out after completion. Grimy from use. Lattice twining has come partially undone. String repairs. Also a break in edge and in center.
