Hearst Museum object titled Bark painting, accession number 11-45531, described as Bark painting features: (right end) a narrow white vertical band bordered by bands of black, edges a vertical band divided into 5 sections by narrow sepia bands outlined with white. The center sections is decorated with 2 dark brown roundels outlined in white one of which overlays part of the next vertical band. The sections on either side of the center segment each contain the imprint of a dark brown foot outlined with white. A band crosshatched in white paint and outlined with sepia and white borders the 5-segment band. Beyond these vertical bands are 18 horizontal bands of variegated widths, crosshatched with white paint bordered in sepia& white, or sepia, bordered by sepia & white, alternating with unpainted bands. In the center is a object in the shape of at "tatting" or weaving shuttle, painted dark brown on each end, and with diamond shaped decoration in the center. Diamonds are crosshatched with white paint. Dividing the center and end sections are bands of crosshatched white outlined with sepia and white. Split wooden sticks lashed together at each end edge each end of the painting.
