Hearst Museum object titled Serape, accession number 3-2386, described as Sarape, wool, red, an black diamond decor, fringe at ends. Length 79 inches, width 44 inches. Warp 13, weft 50-62. Colors: medium-red predominating. Black motifs on the red background; red, pink, white, yellow, green and light blue in border and center. Stylistically “The concentric diamond, square in proportions.”

Wool in tapestry weave; cotton fringe; navy blue ground, diamond center motif (blue, black, white, and red) with similar pattern along border. Length 92 cm by 98 cm (without fringe). Saltillo style. Wool in weft face tapestry weave with kelim slits, cotton warp. “Mexican-aniline style” (E. Boyd, D. Bowen, 1973). See 3-15988-98.

Context of use: garment.

Colors: blues predominating. Dark blue, two medium blues and white in the mosaic; an additional pale blue in the border and center. Light brown used only in motif at center of end border. Stylistically “The circular medallion having the concentric diamond organization.”
