Variety of swordtype called “parang;” sword is iron or steel, slightly rusted; hilt is carved deer antler with copper wire wrapped around hilt; pommel has inset hair of “ruse” deer; scabbard is carved wood, “rusa” deer hair, rattan thongs, beads. Nowadays used for ceremonial or ritual occasions; once was fighting sword. This piece originally came from area between towns of Rejang river called Kapit and Belaga.
