Hearst Museum object titled Statue (reproduction), accession number 21-5, described as Cast of Venus of the Medici (Greek: Aphrodite). According to the inscription the statue is by Kleomenes of Athens, flourished 150 BC. but the inscribed face of the plinth is modern. A lead copy of an older inscription shows that is also was modern. Object details: Original statue of Parian marble was sold by Della Valle family to the Medici in 1584, and left Villa Medici for Florence in 1677. It occupies the place of honor in the Tribuna room of the Uffizi Gallery.
