Almost completely overlaid except for very bottom. 2-faced overlay, red on white. Elaborate designs. Upper area: V-shaped, combination of triangles and parallelograms. Lower area: right-angled up and down steps bisected by diagonal lines, triangle opposite angle of line turning downwards. Mostly plain twined; some 3-strand twining occurs. Small hoop of shoots is stitched to top to form rim. Warp is Hazel (Corylus cornuta californica), weft is possibly Sugar pine (Pinus lambertiana). White pattern is Bear grass (Xerophyllum tenax), black pattern is Maidenhair (Adiantum pedatum). Rim hoop Willow (Salix).
