Nov 1938  Mission Type". Per Ralph Shanks:  Coiled small globular basket bowl.  Deergrass bundle foundation.  Orange and black dyed juncus wefts, as well as possibly palm.  The material does not appear to be yucca as per the previous description.  The start is in juncus.  The design is a band of alternating triangles.  Exterior workface, with a rightward work direction, with primarily bound under weft fag ends and some clipped fag ends.  Plain wrapped rim, with a tapered coil ending.  Basket has a hair woven in.

It has a deergrass bundle foundation.  The wefts are orange, natural and black-dyed juncus with some sumac.  The design is a diamond-back rattlesnake, a floral design and two v's.  The basket has an oval starting knot. The basket has an interior workface with a rightward work direction. The weft fag ends are bound under.  It has a plain wrapped rim and the coil ending is tapered.

The basket has an exterior workface with a rightward work direction.  The weft fag ends are clipped.  The rim is plain wrapped with a tapered coil ending.  Due to the technique and materials the attribution is Cahuilla.

Deergrass bundle foundation.  Wefts are sumac at the base and primarily juncus on the sides.  The designs are sumac and juncus, natural, orange, and black-dyed.  The designs are two rings of black juncus at the base and on the sides are four sets of diagonal chains of three trapezoids with two slashes in the middle.  The basket has an interior workface with a rightward work direction and bound under weft fag ends.  The coil rim is plain wrapped with a two inch long herringbone ending.
