Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-71272, described as Coiled. Globular shape with base wider than mouth and having a flat bottom. Three diagonal designs in maroon. 3-rod foundation.
Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-64299, described as Coiled, shallow, brown design. Per Ralph Shanks:  Coiled winnowing basket.  Single rod coil.  The basket has a raffia handle.  Sedgeroot wefts with redbud designs and three bands of light colored material on the base of the basket.  The start is possibly twined.  The work direction is to the left with an exterior work face.  The slant of the weft twist is primarily up to the right.  The weft fag ends are both concealed and clipped.   The moving weft ends are either clipped or primarily concealed.  On the backface there are some split stitches.  The wefts are interlocking.  The rim is plain wrapped with a tapered coil ending.  The design is a band repeating  three stacked parallelograms followed by a z pattern band near the rim. The basket is probably Pomo or Patwin.

Black design of single row of checkered diamonds, a double row of white and red glass beads intersects the black pattern near the rim of the basket. Double V"s of feathers below design. Somewhat worn over whole surface, in places down to the foundation, suggesting the basket was kept hung up in a bag or net.  3-rod foundation, sedge root sewing strands, bracken fern root design material, mallard duck neck feathers and red topknot feathers of woodpecker.

Designs complex, maroon in color, made of redbud with sedge root background material. 3-rod foundation, with rim having 6.5 cm of backstitching at coil ending. Basket also has a small square "ownership mark" made with 3 stitches of redbud near base of the basket.
