Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number TB-111, described as Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled flaring basket bowl with leftward work direction and three rod foundation.  Coated with something like a modern varnish.   Black designs appear to be bracken fern.  Background is a split shoot, possibly willow.  Eastern Mono/Owens Valley Paiute based on associated note and work direction.  Design is three sets of several chains of diamonds from base to rim, with some filled and some outlined.  Also chains of triangles outlining the diamonds.   No food debris present. Portions of first and second coil are missing, and there are several cracks near rim.
Hearst Museum object titled Burden basket, accession number TB-79, described as Burden basket.  Has twisted fiber rope carrying strap.  Two tags, 2/30 or 21.30 or 2130. Other tag has "Attributed E. Mono L. Dawson 3/6/59" on reverse is "Cat No. Lost 4".  Per Ralph Shanks:  He confirms Eastern Mono (Owens Valley Paiute).  Openwork burden/gathering basket.  Slant of weft twist varies some up to right some down to right.  All willow.  Reinforcing rod halfway up interior. Warp sticks at rim bent horizontally to make reinforced rim.  There is a wire for hanging on the rim.  The bottom is missing.  This could be 1-12846.  It fits Supplementary Catalog description.
