Hearst Museum object titled Jacket, accession number 3-29939, described as Treadle-loomed, warp-faced plain weave, nine pieces; all warps cut; three pieces commercial loomed woolen cloth; all pieces machine pieced. Native name and meaning: Saco, jacket; hombre, man's. Materials, techniques: Two and five cotton singles in predominately red, with some navy blue. Context of use: Collected by Linda Green in Guatemala in 1991. Jacket predominately cotton treadle loomed striped cloth, with commercially woven wool for collar, cuffs, and lapels. Lapels and collar decorate with white machine-stitched diamond pattern. Five outside pockets. jacket decorated around pockets, sleeves and down back with knit braid; braid also used to bind edges of jacket. Jacket is lined with navy blue commercial cloth, and has two inside pockets. This jacket is much more tailored than the one collected in the 1940's (see 3-29652), but does not have the older one's embroidered decorations. Two-button front closure with machine stitched front closure. Geometric and curvilinear iconography.

Hearst Museum object titled Jacket, man's, accession number 3-29652, described as Saco, hombre cofradía (men's jacket): Treadle-loomed, warp predominant plain weave. Four pieces joined back and side seams by machine stitching. Warps cut, machine-stitched and bound with black rickrack. Collar, sleeve openings, both front panels machine-stitched; four pockets, two lower and one top on front and one inside.
