Willow root binding on the handle, whalebone butt, copper rivets at base of blade. Manufacture: steel file heated, beaten into shape and sharpened. Indigenous name for object "chavik.

: Hearst Museum object titled Oil lamp, accession number 2-2970, described as Oil lamp of stone, sub triangular, black. Made out of stone hollowed out; whale blubber used as the burning fluid- reindeer moss around the edge to act as wick; very old probably 150 years. Descended from father to son and it is only when he has no descendants will he part with it.
