The basket has a deer grass bundle foundation. The background material is willow. The design materials are devils claw or bracken fern for the black and Joshua tree root for the red. The design is a horizontal band of red diamonds outlined with willow with black background, often called a snake skin pattern. At the rim is a repeating cross pattern formed by four rectangles. The basket has a pinhole start. The basket has an exterior workface and is woven in a rightward work direction. The weft fag ends are clipped. The rim is plain wrapped with a broken coil ending.
