Hearst Museum object titled Bowl basket, accession number 1-12057, described as Small globose coiled basket with three-rod foundation. Very similar to Pomo. Tag "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks: Flaring coiled basket bowl. The basket has a twined start. The coil foundation is a mix of splints and rods. The wefts are unpeeled redbud with sedge root background. The design three diagonal steps with a lighting design in the middle. The rim is plain wrapped with a tapered ending. The basket has an exterior workface, a leftward work direction, and the an up to the right slant of weft twist. The weft fag ends are primarily clipped. The weft moving ends are bound under or concealed. The weft stitches are 35% split on the backface and very little on the workface. The basket was said by Lizzie Scott, Yuki, to have been given to her by a Huchnom, Louise Hudson.

Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled basket bowl. There are no abrasions but there is residue. The basket has a tight spiral coiled start. The coil foundation is three rod peeled shoots. The wefts are probably sedge root background with unpeeled redbud designs. The design includes diagonal crossed stacked-rectangle lines. There are no random rectangles. The rim is plain wrapped; the rim coil ending is missing. The weft fag ends are over 90% concealed, with some clipped. The weft moving ends are primarily concealed. The exterior of the basket has a few split stiches; the interior has a majority of split stiches. The basket has an exterior workface, with a rightward work direction, and a mixed slant of weft twist. The maker was said by Samuel Barrett's informants to be the mother of a Redwood, which is Huchnom. The use of sedge root is common to the Huchnom, and Huchnom work direction is typically but not always to the left see pg. 117-118 "Indian Baskets of Central California". Based on this and Barrett's informants comment this basket is likely to be Huchnom.

Per Ralph Shanks: Twined openwork conical gathering or hanging storage basket. Used with signs of wear. The basket has a crossed warp start. The warps and wefts are possibly unpeeled willow. The rim is braided with the warps bent to the right. The basket is plain twined with no designs. The basket has an exterior workface, a rightward work direction, and an up to the right slant of weft twist. Resembles Yuki buckeye leaching baskets 1-11901 and 1-12024.

Per Ralph Shanks: Broad coiled bowl, in the shape of cooking basket. There is food debris and some burns on the interior. The basket has a coiled oval start. The basket has a three rod coil foundation. The weft designs are in unpeeled redbud and the design background is in sedge. The design includes four sets of two intersecting diagonal bands with flags on either side, two sets of bands go to the rim, and two sets of bands meet halfway up the basket. There are filler designs at the rim between the main designs. The rim is plain wrapped. The primary design continues to the rim. The rim coil ending is decoratively backstitched for an inch and a half. The rim has a larger diameter coil than the rest of the basket. The weft fag ends are bound under, concealed and clipped; the weft moving ends are concealed. Less than 50% of the wefts are split on the interior, less than 10% are split on the exterior. The wefts are non-interlocking. The basket has an exterior workface. It has a rightward work direction and a down to the right slant of weft twist. The basket has both Yuki and Huchnom aspects. The Huchnom used sedge more commonly than the Yuki.
