Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number TB-91, described as Per Ralph Shanks:  Water bottle/seed bottle.  Diagonal twined up to the right slant of weft twist.  Alternating peeled and unpeeled willow zigzag designs.  Two sets of two bands of black.  Black is bracken fern.  Two cordage handles.  Top has single white bands. Basket does not have pitch, probably never used.  Bottom is three strand twined and the mouth of the jar is wrapped.  Tag says "Paiute Reno NV". Has 1-71980 on it and has same dimensions as described on catalog card. Probably came in with Grace Blair DePue collection acc. 838.

Pinhole starting knot and plain wrapped rim.
