Hearst Museum object titled Lid, accession number 9-23867, described as Lid for oil stove - enamel tray. The top of the lid is decorated with a red design stenciled on white ground. The center, which is slightly higher than the rest of the surface, features four characters “Yongbei Oil Stove” (永備油爐 yongbei youlu). The outer circle is a flame-like pattern. A blue bowstring decorates the rim. This would have been used on the top of a stove.
Hearst Museum object titled Mug, accession number 9-23957, described as Enamel mug. A red inscription spray painted on white ground indicates that the mug was a gift following the victory of the defense of the Chinese border with Vietnam. “Fighting back in self-defense; Protecting the border. Remembering Victory. Presented by the Central Relief Organization, March, 1979 (自衛还击,保卫边疆 胜利纪念 中央慰問団贈 一九七九年三月Ziwei huanji, baowei bianjiang. Shengli jinian. Zhongyang weiwentuan zeng.
