Hearst Museum object titled Baby carrier, accession number 9-23692, described as Baby carrier: central ground cloth green with diamond central applique and 4 corner appliques. Central panel is flanked by two panels of red ground cloth containing central raised red "button", and two panels with blue ground cloth both above and below the central panel.  All applique pieces over embroidered with ribbon, metallic, and sequins. Multiple colored whip stitch one edge.

Inside of bells are bright vegetal designs (and possibly moths and birds?) on a dark ground.  a) hangs from a ribbon with flowers on a vine, edged in geometric embroidery.  b) hangs from a ribbon with geometric embroidery edged in black.

Embroidery done in brown yellow, white, maroon, and blue grid and weave and cross stitch on the ends of sleeves, rectangle on back and back bottom flap. 6 pink silk tassels on back of neck hanging from strings of black and white beads. Appliqué stripes some 1mm wide. Embroidery on front is maroon, white and blue. Collar embroidery edged with blue and clear beads and tufts of pink.
