Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-9581, described as Twined, covered with Xerophyllum and ornamented. Very grimy and worn from use. 2-faced overlay; white ground, two bands of black diagonal zigzags predominate. Mainly plain twined. 3-strand twining occurs: 4.5 cm radius from start; 2 rows at approximately 6 cm and 10 cm from start. Probably typical of the region where obtained.
Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-9582, described as Basket; coiled. Warp is Willow (Salix), weft is Redbud (Cercis occidentalis). Red pattern is Redbud (Cercis occidentalis). Flat base, flaring sides. Large star design with zigzag design around rim. Dark brown on natural ground. Rim broken in one area.

Hearst Museum object titled Soup bowl, accession number 1-14526, described as Similar (to 1-14525?) basket, smaller, with zigzag band of white near rim. Yurok type. Per Ralph Shanks: Soup bowl. Plain twined with three strand twining at base. Materials are conifer root weft with overlay of beargrass. Two bands of reinforcing around the middle done in lattice twining.
