Materials, techniques: Cotton, two-ply n light blue, red, yellow, pink, dark blue. Context of use: Purchased in mercado artesanias in Guatemala City for $2.25. Multicolored yarns are twisted and netted into a small hammock; the arms are single two-ply yarns of dark blue looped through the end of the stripes making up the netted "sprang-like" body of the hammock and brought together at either end. There they are wrapped with another dark blue yarn from where the hammock is hung; on either end is a pink and blue tie.
