Hearst Museum object titled Nativity scene, accession number 3-31067, described as CERAMIC NATIVITY SCENE:  Elaborate ceramic nativity with stable, manger, angels, animals and kings.  Scene rests on a rectangular base painted mauve with white decorative patterns along the edges and sides.  The stable is formed with a sepia colored, ceramic slab back, open roof with front cornice and pillars all connected to the back by ceramic supports.  The peaked roof of the stable front is decorated with wine/yellow rosettes, yellow with red rays or flames, a dove with rests on a tiny thatched “rooflet” painted white and purple, two angels are seated at each end of the roof and flowers and plants decorate the length of the upright pillars.  Within the stable, on a raised dais, are a male (Joseph) wearing a blue robe and white hat and cloak, holding a staff decorated with flowers and plants; a female (Mary) wearing a white gown, blue mantel and a yellow crown.  Between them is a naked baby resting on a manger with purple swaddling draped across his body.  Above the holy family is an angel; to each side are white doves.  At the front of the stable are 3 wise men and two sheep (white/black). Each king is clad in a robe, mantel and crown. Each holds a vessel in his hands.
Hearst Museum object titled Nativity scene, accession number 3-30960, described as TIN NATIVITY SCENE:  Repousse relief figure of a baby in a manger.  Infant has brown hair, pink skin and wears blue trunks.  Manger is yellow.  Baby is a separate piece welded to the manger.  Manger stand is red.

Angel has a tiara on her head and 2 wings attached to her back.  Her proper left hand holds the scales of justice; her  proper right holds a club which is raised  and held beside her right cheek.
