Seated, on frame of 3 sticks, Stocking knit, stuffed doll with apple head, beaded front teeth, horse-hair braids.  Body/shirt of yellow/tan fabric w/ beaded buttons, Body/pants are blue jeans.  Tan leather mocassins with white/red beaded design.  Leather gauntlets & belt, beaded as on mocassins; brown leather, beaded vest; battered tan hat.  Holds hand drum and drum stick.  H = 7”.

Face has slit with piece of leather poking out to form nose.  Lightly stitched eyes and mouth; lightly rouged cheeks.  Hair  a combination of black cloth and wool yarn.  Dressed in leather leggings to hips, leather lkilt tied around waist w/ red/white braided thread belt, hip-length tunic.  Leather mocassins.  Beaded design on kilt and shirt.  Beaded necklaces criss-cross chest.  Stitched fingers.  H = 14”

Dressed in fringed buckskins, painted yellow at yolk with blue and green lines along skirt.  Red dot design along bottom above the hem fringe. Leather leggings to the knee with crystal and blue beads.  Blue bead dangle earrings.  Hair tied with red string.  Arms are very short.  H = 10.75”

Two-skin dress heavily beaded in blue and white with red accents.  Turtle amulet contains sage. Leather belt with conchos.  Beaded moccasins.  H = 5.5”
Hearst Museum object titled Doll, accession number 2-71755, described as Dakota-Santee doll.  Fabric stuffed doll, dressed in leather tunic.  Hood had orange-red felt outline. Face made of felt with beaded features.  Flat leather hands.  Sewn w/ embroidery floss in green and yellow.  The tunic at lower edge has a separate piece of leather which might have been furred at one time.  Eyes are of blue beads w/ white in center; black beads for eyes and nose and eyebrows, and red for mouth.  H = 9.5”
