Hearst Museum object titled Blouse, accession number 3-15728, described as Blouse. White, heavily embroidered in colors. Cross-stitch pattern. Cotton. Embroidered in cross-stitch pattern. Purchased from Samoniego in Puebla; shop just behind the cathedra. According to Alejandro de Avila Blomberg (1984), textiles from this area became popular in the tourist market in the early 1960s and the quality deteriorated markedly, as evident in this piece. This piece was purchased for 90.00 pesos; current rate of exchange, 12.50 pesos to $1.00. See Cordry and Cordry for a photograph of one of the old pieces assigned to San Francisco Chapantla, which does not seem to be a village in this area.

Hearst Museum object titled Cradle, accession number 3-14974, described as Popoluca Indian cradle consisting of a stick hoop to which is lashed a net bottom. The hoop lashing is not aboriginal. The net is lashed to the frame (hoop) with the original string, but the lashing was done in 1955 by the donor and is not necessarily the aboriginal lashing form.
