One hang tag "Cahuilla att.".  Metal tag "223".  Tag glued to bottom "223".  Other Tag on bottom "223. Property of Mrs. George H. Taylor, Fresno, Cal". Per Ralph Shanks:  Coiled sifter/parching basket tray.  Bundle foundation start is crushed and then it becomes deergrass bundle.  The wefts are sumac at the base and the rest is juncus, tan, orange, and black dyed.  The design is a black circle and then four sets of three zigzags radiating vertically to the rim.  Two of the sets are black and two sets are orange.  The weft fag ends are bound under.  The workface is on the interior and the work direction is to the right.   The rim is plain wrapped with some stitches missing.  The coil ending is tapered with herringbone stitches for the last two inches.  This is a Southwest California basket, possibly Cahuilla based on the Riverside attribution.
